Each year the Canadian Society for Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (CIPPRS) offers a prize to the best two theses in areas related to computer and robot vision and image analysis. Emmanuel Piuze won one of these, the honorable mention award, this year for his thesis “The geometry of cardiac myofibers” defended in 2015. His thesis was supervised by Prof Kaleem Siddiqi and co-supervised by Jon Sporring of the University of Copenhagen. He will be presenting an invited talk on his work and receiving his award at the 2016 Canadian Conference on Robot Vision to be held in Victoria BC in June.
