Genome Canada grant led by Profs. WaldispĆ¼hl and Blanchette on crowdsourcing for microbiome research

Aug. 1, 2019

Profs. Waldispühl and Blanchette will be leading a new project funded by Genome Canada titled "Crowdsourcing sequence alignments in a AAA game for microbiome research". This major initiative will explore how to harness the power of gamers in a popular video game to produce candidate sequence alignments for microbiome research. The goal is that "the crowdsourcing pipeline developed will be used to accelerate the productivity of Canadian microbiome initiatives and promote public understanding of the impact of the microbiome on our health."
