Joseph Vybihal teaches at McGill University's School of Computer Science. He is a Master's Non-Thesis advisor in the School of Computer Science and is a Discipline Officer for the Department of Science. His research interests are in intelligent software systems, which mix software engineering with artificial intelligence, and the impact of social media on society. He is currently researching multi-agent autonomous robotic systems that cooperate and model the world around them. He is also researching the impact that social media has on people. He leads the Montreal chapter and serves on the CSCA executive board as Secretary. He is the CEO of vSolutions, a small software consulting firm. He skis, bikes, plays bass guitar, and rides horseback English style. He loves dogs. He is deeply in love with his wife Electra and two daughters Abigail and Bethany.
