Brief Biography:

Hello, my name is Jian Li. I am an Assistance Professor in the School of Electronic, Information and Electrical Engineering at the ShangHai JiaoTong University, China. 

I am currently visiting Professor Xue Liu’s group at the McGill University.

I have travelled over the world in the past.

I held a Postdoctoral Fellow of one year (2007-2008) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto.

I received my Ph.D. degree in computer science at the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, France in 2007. My thesis was carried out in TRIO project of French INRIA-LORIA.

I received my M.S. degree in Telecommunication and Computer Science at the University of Henri Poincaré, France in 2003.

I received my bachelor degree in electronic and informatics technology at the TianJin University, China in 2001.

My research areas include real-time communication and theory, middleware, Information dissemination in large-scale distributed environment, Publish/Subscribe system, real-time scheduling, Embedded Real-time Systems, quality of service, resource management, and graceful degradation for multimedia transmission.
