About me

Hello world! I am Kai Xiong, a second year master student at theSchool of Computer Science,McGill University, advised byProf. Xue Liu. I am expected to graduate in June, 2014.
I work closely with researchers fromGeneral Motors Companyand we focus on how to improve the performance and reliability of Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC) protocol, which is specifically designed for enhancing transportation safety and highway efficiency. In particular, we have studied the multi-channel operations in this protocol and we propose an efficient algorithm that can effectively provide both reliable safety services and good non-safety services.
Prior to joining McGill, I received my bachelor degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from thePolitecnico di Torino, Italy. Meanwhile, I interned at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Laboratories (France) and GPS Standard SpA (Italy). In the summer of 2011, I also went to theTechnical University of Denmark for short exchange.
At leisure, I like traveling and coding.
