Eclipse Technology eXchange (ETX) Workshop at OOPSLA 2006

Portland, Oregon

October 22-23, 2006

The Eclipse platform (http://www.eclipse.org) is designed for building integrated development environments (IDEs) for object-oriented application development. The goal of the Eclipse Technology Exchange workshop (ETX) was to bring together researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas about potential new uses of Eclipse and how the core Eclipse technology can be leveraged, improved and/or extended for research and teaching projects. Building on the success of the Eclipse Technology eXchange workshops at OOPSLA 2003, 2004, and 2005, this 1.5 day workshop included the presentation of 17 original papers on a number of topics related to the Eclipse platform.

The workshop is now over. Thanks to all of our 35 attendees for their participation and congratulations to Tom Zimmermann for winning the Best Student Paper award for the paper "Fine-grained Processing of CVS Archives with APFEL". See the program for the complete list of papers, including the Best Student Paper award short list.
