Limitations of Current Techniques

We feel that neither of these techniques is sufficient to use when creating an animated mosaic.

Reasons:

• Prefer Hausner's Centroidal Voronoi Diagram (CVD) approach over the JIM packing approach.
• Hausner's CVD approach limits tiles to rectangles or ellipses.
• Want arbitrarily shaped containers (like JIM).
• Also, want to improve upon the limited CVD approach.
