bioLegato - A General Purpose Graphic Interface

The replacement of GDE with bioLegato is ongoing. We are currently in the process of rewriting documentation, originally written for GDE, to describe bioLegato. In the meantime, some of the old GDE documentation will be used for bioLegato. In most cases, bioLegato works almost identically to GDE, so GDE tutorials will usually work with bioLegato.
bioLegato is best thought of as a program that runs programs. The main bioLegato window consists of a multiple sequence alignment editor and menu buttons. To perform a task on any sequence or set of sequences, simply click or drag on the sequence(s), and choose a program from one of the menus. Each menu button opens a pull-down containing a list of programs. Menus group programs by topic.
