Sun Secure Global Desktop

The Sun Secure Global Desktop (SGD) is a Java application that runs a desktop session to a remote Sun Solaris host. It does essentially the same thing as a SunRay terminal, but in software. SGD is more convenient that VNC in that it handles all aspects of running a remote session, whereas VNC requires a first time setup, and each vncserver job must be launched at the command line. As well, SGD can be launched directly from any Java-enabled browser.

For complete information on SGD, see http://www.sun.com/software/products/sgd/index.xml
