McGill University will be one of the many universities hosting the preliminaries for the Northeastern North America region. Our competition will be held on October 21st at 12h00 EDT NOTE THE TIME CHANGE on our main campus in beautiful downtown Montreal, QC (directions will be provided beforehand). The contest draws students from colleges and universities throughout Quebec, New Brunskwick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Labrador, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York State excluding New York City. Winners selected from regional contests on six continents will advance to the ACM Programming Contest World Finals to compete for bragging rights and scholarships.
Each team consists of three students who compete against the clock to complete as many questions correctly as possible. A maximum of 5 hours is given to answer as many questions as possible. More than one team from a single university may be sent to the preliminaries, but only one may be sent to the regional and world competitions. This year, the regionals will be held in Rochester, NY, and the best teams from all the preliminaries from the Northeastern North America region will compete for a place at the world competition. Note that the top teams in the 20th percentile among all teams in the preliminaries in the Northeastern North America region will advance to the regional competition.
Cost: $40 CAD
Included:
- lunch and a catered dinner for four;
- plaques to the winning team(s);
- certificates to all;
- polo shirts to all.
