Casual position available in robotics research area.

The Network Program Assistant will be assisting in the day to day operations of a large research grant that supports a Canada-wide network of researchers in field robotics. As such, he/she will: - Help the Network manager (NM) coordinate research activities and communications among the members of the network across the country, including preparation and distribution of written and video material. - Help the NM plan and organize network events such as field trials and research workshops, and make necessary arrangements for travel. - Help the NM implement public outreach strategies, and design material for the web site, newsletters, public outreach, and public release. - Maintain NCFRN code repository - Manage content for our web site and perform data entry (tech reports/ publications) - Provide the NM and research staff assistance with any other duties necessary for the good management of the network - Seek information on suitable scientific equipment and manage orders. - Attend meetings and prepare minutes

Qualifications/ Skills Required: - Knowledge of Python for administering the Plone based NCFRN website - Basic Linux systems administration experience for maintaining website backups, user groups, etc - B. Sc. In a scientific field, to understand/record/contribute to technical meetings. Robotics background an asset. - Knowledge of source control tools (hg, git, redmine etc) to.

Start Date: August 16, 2013 End Date: August 15, 2014

Schedule: 20 hours/week Hourly Wage: $17 (plus 4%)
