Academic Casual Position

We are looking for a part-time bioinformatician to work on a comparative genomics project aiming at identifying key non-coding regulatory sites in the human genome through comparative analysis of a collection of other eukaryotic genomes. The project will involve the design of efficient algorithms and statistical approaches, their implementation in Java/C/{Pyhton, their evaluation on both real and simulated data, and the biological interpretation of the results obtained, and the writing of a research paper presenting the results.

Requirements: - Undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics or Computer Science and Biology. - Strong programming skill in Java, C, and Python - Strong statistics skills - Research experience in bioinformatics - Strong written and oral communication skills.

Duration: January 16 2014 - June 1 2014 Number of hours per week: 20

Salary: 20$/hour
