The Pool and the excavated waterfront. This site of the original Newfoundland non-seasonal English settlement (1621, "The Colony of Avalon") was identified by Russell Harper in the 1950s and excavated by Jim Tuck (Memorial U.) who still visits and makes replica furniture.
