Hi, I'm Manjinder Kaur, a grad-student in the School of Computer Science at McGill University. Currently, enrolled in the Second year of M.Sc. (Comp Sci) at McGill, I'm working as a Research Assistant under the supervision of Prof. Maheswaran in the Advanced Network Research Lab . My thesis is based on the idea of developing a Facebook (real world) application in order to manage security and identity of the users. Along with this, I'm taking the Graduate Course COMP-535 Computer Networks Also, I'm TAing for COMP-202 Introduction to Computing for Fall 2011. In Summer 2011, I received DAAD(German Exchange Student Service) Rise-Profressional Scholarship and did internship at Axxessio Gmbh, Darmstadt (Germany), where I explored the spectacular Gesture and Speech Recognition abilities of Kinect and developed an application capable of recognizing some of the common Human Gestures by utilizing Microsoft Kinect SDK. . Talking more about me,I did my Bachelor's of Technology in distinction in Computer Science from DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Punjab (India) under the aegis of Punjab Technical University, Punjab (India) in May 2009. Then after working in IT industry for around 1 year, I joined McGill in Fall'10 to pursue my Masters.
