"Listen, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!"

Here is a collection of laws that describe certain social or individual tendencies which I have noted in the past.
The steam engine works because it creates pressure and pressure produces work. This is an analogy to the law of deadlines, which states that the amount of work W produced by a student is inversely proportional to the distance (in seconds) to the deadline, d. Because the total amount of work required for an assignment, T, is assumed to be a constant depending solely on the assignment itself, we get that the time necessary for a project is given by t = T / W. Therefore, an immediate corollary to the above law is that in order to take the least time to complete an assignment, one must wait until the last minute. Note that the Law of Deadlines implicit ignores the quality of the work, and assumes that being deprived of sleep does not reduce the amount of work produced.
From December to April, the stupider you look, the warmer you stay. This can be proved by contradiction: people who try to look good in winter can be seen shivering at street intersections or running from metro station to work/school.
Lanes are just a suggestion. Also, it is easier to have drivers go slowly and apply their brakes often rather than implement street intersection policies.
Never get involved in a land war in Asia (also, never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!)
