My name is Monica Dinculescu, and I am a Master's student at McGill University, supervised by Doina Precup. I hail originally from Bucharest, Romania, but have since relocated to Montreal (with an intermediate stop in Ottawa). Despite popular belief, it was not for the weather.

I am interested in learning approximate predictive representations of partially observable models. In particular, I'm looking at representations that take into consideration the agent's interest in the world, and make accurate predictions about the future, with respect to a set of features of interest.

I'm generally interested in most flavours of artificial intelligence, with a particular affinity for reinforcement learning. I like probability theory (although we bicker often), combinatorics and cute and furry animals (see: meerkats).
