Since fall 2010 I am a Ph.D. student in the Division of Experimental Medicine at McGill University. I'm part of the Laboratory for Biomedical Informatics, Imaging and Spectroscopy, I work under the supervision of Professors David Burns (Chemistry) and Kris Koski (School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition).

My current research interest lies in the arena of Chemometrics, investigating various statistical and computational approaches for biomarker discovery in biological fluids analyzed using spectroscopy techniques. I have special interest in Machine Learning, Data Mining and diverse areas of Biomedical Informatics.

I got my MSc in Computer Science (Bioinformatics) at the McGill Centre for Bioinformatics, under the supervision of Prof. Mathieu Blanchette. Our work was in the area of Genomics, specifically in Computational Gene Regulation. Here is a link to my MSc. Thesis "Large Scale Identification of Transcription Factor Binding Sites in DNA Sequences".

Before that, I obtained my BSc in Computer Systems Engineering from the Technological University of Panama, I worked in the Intelligent Systems Unit under the supervision of Prof. Victor Lopez. Our work was in the area of Distributed Artificial Intelligence, specifically our work focused in the Interoperability between two Mobile Agent Systems (SeMoA and JADE). Here is a link to my BSc. Thesis "Interoperabilidad de Agentes Moviles".
