Jacob Eliosoff (uh-LIE-uh-soff) is a computer programmer from Montreal with BA('97) and MSc('04) degrees in computer science from McGill. His Master's thesis was about a formal verification algorithm for probabilistic systems. He has spent most of the last ten years writing code for startups in different cities and teaching computer science, first at McGill and then from 2003-2005 at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, where he also worked as a software consultant for a local networking company. (See pictures from his stay in Ethiopia: http://openface.ca/~cobe/eth/). Jacob enjoys building programs but also has many other interests, probably first among them epistemology, the philosophy of knowledge.
