The Algorhythmics are the official band of the School of Computer Science of McGill University. The current permanent members are Godfried T. “Terminator” Toussaint on the drums (computational geometry professor), David “Crazy Hands” Avis on the guitar (professor working on combinatorial optimization and operations research), Gena “Fretless” Hahn on the bass (professor working on graph theory), Jörg “88 Fingers” Kienzle on the keyboard (professor working in the field of fault tolerance), and Sean Kennedy, our main singer and guitarist (Ph.D. student in theoretical computer science). Over the years, many other visitors of the School of Computer Science played with us (see below).
We’re no accomplished musicians, but just a bunch of guys that get together once a month to jam. Usually we perform once or twice per year for our friends or for the department or the faculty of Science. We mainly play “blues” and “rock” songs. Here’s a list of some of the songs we regularly play:
