What is simplex?

A subset of is called a *-simplex* (
)
if it is the convex hull of affinely independent points. It has
exactly vertices and facets. A simplex is
a -simplex for some .

Simplices are selfdual, i.e. a dual (see 2.4) of a simplex is again a simplex.
