General information regarding accommodation
University accommodation (arranged by conference organizers)
Participants who register before Thursday, June 25th 2009 will have the option of having us reserve an affordable single or shared room in McGill's New Residence building. The New Residence building was formerly a Renaissance-Montreal hotel before McGill turned it into a hotel-style dorm. All rooms have their own private bathroom. The New Residence rooms, whether shared or single, are priced at a rate of 99CAD, which includes breakfast. There is no tax charged on the room rate, if you reserve the room via the online registration form. This offer is optional: participants who register early are free to arrange their own lodging.
Example of registering for accommodation online: The registration form allows you to check the days you will stay at New Residence. So, if you arrive for example on Aug 2 and leave on Aug 4, then you should check two boxes one for Aug 2 and another one for Aug 3, since you are staying two nights.
Check in at New Residence: The reception is open 24h, seven days a week. Your room is normally available after 3:00pm on the day you check in. There is no problem with checking in late.
Parking at New Residence: Parking costs $16 (CAD) per day and is paid directly at New Residence Hall.
Room sharing: We created a Google newsgroup cade09-roomsharing.
- Group name: cade09-roomsharing
- Group home page: http://groups.google.ca/group/cade09-roomsharing
- Group email address: cade09-roomsharing@googlegroups.com
