About

I'm a mathematician/pedagogue living in Montreal. When I'm not turning coffee into theorems or putting students to sleep I can sometimes be found playing violin, microbrewing, or eating polish food.

Mathematics

I'm interested in mathematical logic and category theory, though I've also been known to dabble with formal languages, computability & complexity, and cryptography. Lately, I've been spending some time learning more about recursive and r.e. sets.

Teaching

I've been a full-time teacher since January 2009, and if you're interested in how I think basic mathematics ought to be done, you might want to read this well-known article. If you're looking for calculus material, I've listed some online resources that I've found useful in the links section; they should be helpful for teachers and students alike.

I often feel that it's hard to find freely accessible presentations of topics in higher mathematics. I'd like to do my part to remedy this by taking things that I've written up for my own benefit, and making them available in the projects & papers section.
