I don't play any musical instruments. That's terrible of me. Would like to play the bass, but i'll probably have to travel less to get that started.

Stumbling upon a good song that could have easily escaped me for a whole lifetime will make my day.

I could easily spend hours every day looking for music, or listening to my collection.
Unfortunately I can't really multitask when i'm listening to tunes I like.

I like live music in small venues. Huge concerts rarely interested me.
Best concert i've been to: the Prodigy (before the 3rd album), in a marble quarry dug out of the side of a mountain adjacent to Athens. After all the jumping around, people were covered in white dust.

I prefer music that is fast or energetic (loud). With a few exceptions.
What type of music do I like? Rock, electronic, old school hip hop, country, punk, reggae, african, greek. Anything. Genres are too broad.
What bands/albums do I like? Even for my favorite bands I probably like under half of their work. So there's not much point in answering this. But ok here are a few that I grew up with...
Nirvana, RHCP, Beastie Boys, the Prodigy (only the first 2-and-a-half albums), Mano Negra. Offspring (early stuff). And I'll add Muse even though i was all grown up already.

I don't think i know the lyrics to half of any single song, no matter how many times I've heard some of them.

Finally here are some rants:

Most standard radio stations are musical brainwashers serving audio junk food for teenagers. Top-40 usually means top-40 to avoid. But there are always exceptions.

I think people dismiss electronic music too easily. A lot of it is bland, monotonous, and awful. But some of it is the brilliant work of geniuses. If you don't dig deep to find the good stuff, you're essentially judging it based on the equivalent of top-40 radio. Also, saying it is easy to create electronic music is just wrong. These artists are working with and taking advantage of an infinite spectrum of sounds, some of which have never been heard before and cannot even be described by standard classic musical notation. Bah.

Ear bud headsets are terrible. Laptop speakers are terrible. Both are for emergencies only. Never listen to new music like that.
