Amazing.

People STILL haven't realised that they've broken up and aren't coming back. Anyone not already in the know, take a look here:

http://secretunicornsforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2262

That should outline any questions about why they broke up, and what they're doing now.

I am writing to you, in order to inform you of my sincere gratitude that there has finally been a musical group to express the appreciation of unicorns and their uniqueness. It is quite apparent that you show a same type of uniqueness and how can I say, far from normal image that is shown through your lyrics. Thanks so much again and might I say VIVA the UNICORNS. i listen to the unicorns as often as i can. it provides a soundtrack surreal enough to compliment the reality of texas. its magical, its perfect, its my favorite. unfortunately when listening, its ear seduction gives me the worst case of jellybones making me unable to drive, walk, anything really but dance laying down. i cant wait to see in austin june 14th! owww!

Listening to the unicorns makes me eat pink fruity gumdrops and then violently have a seizure. When I regain consiousness all along my mouth and running down my chin is a frothy, colorful foam. I then dance around to what I term the "amoeba shuffle" and try to relive my birthing. Sweet god guys...all this is a good thing. Your music = salvation

Despite Alan being drunk and the high school whores screaming in my earthe show was well done at the Common Grounds in Gainesville. Yeah, I know the Bush family has screwed everyone over. If dont seem them burning out soon I am going to have move out of the States. The drummer needs to talk more and feel free to knock some people out of the audience with a microphone.

Hiya, i've put togeather my own unicorns website, temporary domain at: http://www.unicorns.co.nr/ I was wondering if you'll let me host the ogg/mp3s of 'The Unicorns Are People Too' and other mp3's you have (I also have a bootleg i'm gonna host with the microphones) . I will naturally attribute them to your website (I've already borrowed your cover of the album, hope thats okay...). Perhaps you could also list me as a mirror? Anyway the site still needs alot of work and I haven't a chance to test it in multiple browsers yet but its a start.

hello. this site will never go away! there is *tons* of other old unicorns stuff... including many bootlegs from montreal concerts as well as videos. currently the bandwidth and space necessary to put the videos up is a little hard to come by (for now)... though in the future it may happen. more audio will be put up soon.. it's just a question of time, and nothing else...

The Unicorns are truly brilliant!!! They really are musical/performance geniuses!.. this was proven at their recent Montreal concert (January 10th, 2004). please stand by for future updates.

ps. the reason for the "skill testing question" is so that spam-bots don't post garbage on this guestbook...

The Unicorns have a new website, http://theunicorns.net -- new tour dates are available there, it looks like a pretty big tour. I almost didn't get to see them last night thanks to this outdated site.

To the owner of this website--are you still around? Do you have any other pre-album stuff like "Ebb Tide, Azure Sky"? I've also found Unicorns songs named "Big Kind Death" and "Let Me Sleep"...where are these from?

To The Unicorns--you guys are the best, never stop.

Hello guys, just thought I'd drop by and remind you again what a terrific show you played in Victoria last weekend. Yours was the best set of the night, as far as I'm concerned. Sorry I never made it to the second show, but thanks a lot for putting me on the list anyways. :) I will e-mail you the pictures from your set as soon as school lets up a bit. By the way, I love your new cd... it's fantastic. Take care and come back soon.

The music page has been overhauled, including a brand new lyrics engine.

You may find 'ogg' suprising. ogg is a music file format like mp3, but its license isn't proprietary and evil... instead it's not restrictive and all the code for it is "open". The more recent versions of Winamp 2 and 3 support ogg.

There is a plan to run Ice Cast (a free and open alternative to Shout Cast) so that you can stream the music instead of having to download it!

Unicorns are not symbolic of virginity, they could only be tamed by virgins. Also, the unicorn is mentioned in the King James bible, because some fucknut mistranslated re'em as unicorn instead of wild ox. There is a hilarious passage about strapping the fuck'n unicorn up and plowing the fields. As if!

It can be redirected, or it can stay and link over...
I think that I'd like to keep a fan site up.

On the new url, it would be much sweeter if it were a .net as opposed to a .com: The Unicorns' network (network of friends, network of fans)... as opposed to The Unicorns' company (you know all the connotations). But now it may be too late.

I have that suffocating, burning feeling inside, that I thought only happens when girls pull the plug.

I just bought the disc after having heard it on CBC radio2 at like 2am (when all the cool kids listen to the CBC.) hey nick.. yeah it's good to be back in canada.. i'll return to mtl in the first week of April.

about you making the site "fine".. i'm all for it. i always tell people that i'm not an artist, so i can build the framework for stuff, but then someone else has to twist and bend it to make it appealing. send me the things you have in mind and i'll see if i can make it happen.

yes, let's continue working together. i like that.

i'm probably gonna take URL out of the thingy majigy cuz spammers keep putting up dildo links. i don't have anything against dildos, but i have everything against spammers.

and while on the topic, there are ways to overcome this problem. one easy way, and one hard way. the easy way is to avoid words like "guestbook" and "message board", so if you can come up with something better then what i have: "Thang", we can substitute all references to "guestbook". the hard way is way sweeter... but it's gonna take me some time to make. it's something i want to do any way, so it will get done, "eventually".

ps. maybe we should put some higher quality (in terms of bit rate) mp3s on site so that radio stations can download them to play on the air.

pps. also check this out: http://mnftiu.cc/mnftiu.cc/war.html ... and watch the animated short about their mission.. it explains a lot about an alternative to copyrighting things.

also read the interview: http://creativecommons.org/learn/features/musicians ... it talks about bands having to rething their economic models, by getting their income to come from different channels, like playing concerts and selling merchandise rather than selling CDs.

the following article backs most of that by showing how much money is wasted on middle persons (ie. recording companies, etc): http://www.arancidamoeba.com/mrr/problemwithmusic.html
if you can't read the whole article, at least look at the table at the bottom, and read the last three paragraphs.

ALEX!? I have a question and concern.. Well.. the thing is.. I'm a fine arts student, and i'd like to make this website a little more fine, you know what I'm saying? I'd like to inject it with a little more rough-edgedness.. Right now, it feels too conventional.. I have a basic knowledge of HTML and some Flash, so could I come up with some pages and send them to you or something?

To give you an example, I want to include drawings, and I want to hand-draw all the letters. I want to re-write the bio and basically revamp the entire thing (especially the ugly pictures)

Don't take it personal, Alex, you have been wonderful! Let's continue working together.

but he's got a lot of creative muscle that he needs to flex in a hundred directions. not all of it is going to fit inside the unicorns spiraled horn. plus, nick is sloppy.

what is with alden's other musical "projects" anyway? is not one creative outlet enough? why does he need to fragment his oeuvres? wouldn't there be more cohesion if he simply committed to one "project"? say, the unicorns?

I don't know if this will impact anyone, but The Unicorns are playing a show at my house (the east 2nd house) on Thusday, December 19th. It's at 2755 East 2nd Ave, right by renfrew... Starting around 8pm, but knowing the dudes, it will likely be a little later... Alden's other project, All Makes, Parts and Collisions will also be playing. The number is 254-1630, if anyone gets lost.

alex! how are YOU doing? i've been reading some of your entries on /india. it sounds like you're having a time. the unicorns are getting by. we've got a couple of good sounding gigs lined up in dismember. i'm leaving in a couple of weeks. ANd we've signed a multi-million dollar contract with Warner Bros. Internationl! that's been really exciting. oh, and i got a perm. plus, i'm reading D.F. Wallace's A supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again. And i recently shot my newest short film, Bayou Billy. I've been making my own granola and waffles from scratch. much more satisfying that way. and you- how is it, India? really.

it just occured to me that i own a business and as such am expected to do things such as throw staff x mas parties. rather unfortunetly i only have a single slave. but i assure you she is a party all on her own. i will run this notion by the powers that be and maybe corporate funds will be siphoned off to make something happen.

Listen to Brave New Waves on CBC Radio Two, and you just might hear some Unicorns. It airs from 12am-4am. Unfortunately i cannot narrow that window, but Brave New Waves is good in itself.

is this thing on. i posted my postulates and they are no where to be shown. perhaps they are delayed by the forces that govern such things. your zeneith guided and bowel inspired chanting sends shivers to my chakras and all that. and on top of all the the new songs blew me several new chakras if thats plausible (cause everythings possible).

We intend some concerts to happen in December, on Vancouver Island and the mainland, in loose connection with the solstice (the 22nd) and the full Moon (the 19th). If anyone wants to be a midwife to a Unicorns happening, please contact us. In other words, if you want to engineer the conditions to facilitate a concert, do. In other words still, please contact us with your dreams. We want to play in really neat places, you know?: Change the jejuneness of what constitutes concerts. Maybe in an arcade? A bowling alley? Your personal trophy room? Your swank christmas party? Your 24hour convenience store? Your parent's bourgeois chalet? (I really want this one, mike.) The Autumnal equinox is this monday and the full moooooon is on saturday.
