An increasing number of techniques used in medical imaging derive from computer vision and mathematical image analysis. Kaleem Siddiqi works in the area of variational methods and geometric flows applied to brain image analysis. Several researchers at the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre including Louis Collins Bruce Pike and Alan Evans, as well as Tal Arbel at the Centre for Intelligent Machines carry out research in medical imaging.
