Medicine and Imaging

Our faculty are engaged in research collaborations with colleagues in biomedical engineering, neurology and neuro-surgery. Areas of central interest to these disciplines draw on techniques developed in mathematics, algorithms, computer vision and computer graphics. Thus, our students are well prepared to undertake research in these exciting fields. Specific areas in which our faculty, graduate and undergraduate students are contributing include: brain image analysis, image-guided neurosurgery, medical imaging and diffusion imaging.

Some courses that are relevant for this area are:

  • COMP 507 - Computational Geometry
  • COMP 557 - Fundamentals of Computer Graphics
  • COMP 558 - Fundamentals of Computer Vision
