Minireference Co. is a scientific publisher started by a McGill CS graduate. We publish the popular NO BULLSHIT GUIDE textbook series which covers topics like high school math, calculus, mechanics, linear algebra, and even advanced topics like quantum mechanics.

We're looking for one or two students to help us upgrade the graphics used in three books to professional-class level. Here is an example of an old fig: https://minireference.com/static/tmp/figsamples/oldfig.png
And this is a example of a new figure generated using TikZ: https://minireference.com/static/tmp/figsamples/nicefig.pdf(source https://minireference.com/static/tmp/figsamples/nicefig_source.tex ) You see how much nicer the vector format is?

We're open to any of the following software tools for generating figures:
  - TikZ (preferred format since it integrates very well with LaTeX)
  - Ipe (point and click)
  - graphie-to-png.kasandbox.org (JavaScript)
  - Inkscape/Illustrator (generic)
  - any other graphic suite you can be productive in

The ideal candidate will have experience with TikZ and LaTeX, but we're also fine with people who want to learn on the job. Remuneration will depend on previous experience and ability to learn and work independently. The project starts in Feb 2018 and needs to be complete by April.
