Software Developer - VFX Pipeline

Summary

The software developer creates tools and shapes the production architecture in order to optimize the workflow for each team member. The software developer’s involvement with the VFX pipeline will facilitate the production of images by the team.

Responsibilities

As a software developer - VFX Pipeline, the candidate will mainly:
Develop automation tools to support the VFX production.
Design working methods and influence the company's workflow.
Use best practices in software development to ensure code maintenance.
Adapt tools and technologies developed by the company and update them.


The candidate must also:
Participate actively in technical meetings to improve workflow.
Respond to a system of internal requests (tickets) by contributing to the solutions to technical problems encountered by the team.

Required Qualifications

As a software developer - VFX Pipeline, the candidate must:
Master the Python programming language.
Be skilled in debugging and be critical of their code.
Work in Windows or Linux environment.


The candidate must also:
Have interest in the field of VFX and cinematography post-production.
Ideally know APIs of software relevant to the VFX pipeline :
Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Shotgun and others.
Adapt to softwares changes and stay up-to-date with technological and technical advances.
Be autonomous and resourceful.
Put the team and project ahead.
Know how to prioritize work as well as perform several tasks in parallel.
Canadian citizenship or work permit required.
