Preparing a Letter of Invitation

• Letter of invitation is required if visit is for more than a couple of days.

  *N.B. Letters will be done centrally on behalf of researchers via the Online Visitor request form. Click here to be redirected to form.

   

• Information absolutely required in the letter of invitation:

  • Name of visitor
  • Name of institution
  • Visitor's title
  • Duration of stay
  • Funding, if any
  • Personal insurance coverage prior to arrival

   

• Letter may also include:
  • Payment of living allowance
  • Reimbursement of expenses
  • Travel to conferences, if anticipated, may require a Visa
  • Library borrowing privileges
  • SOCS E-Mail account
  • Office, or access to lab
  • Equipment available
