Winter McGill Technology Career Fair

McGill's Techfair Organizing Committee is holding a 2-day career fair for engineering and computer science. Opening at 9:30 am and closing at 3:30 pm on both Thursday and Friday, February 8th and 9th. Different companies on each day except for a few which come for both days. The Tech Fair is a superb occasion to learn about companies which hire engineering and computer science students for full-time, internship and summer jobs. It is a chance to meet engineers, managers, human resource representatives from different industries in Montreal, rest of Quebec, rest of Canada, and outside Canada. Some employers will be accepting resumes but others prefer to talk with you, then will refer you to the MECC campus recruitment job listings to follow the applications procedures in the job postings or will refer you to their own web sites for further action.

The Tech Fair Organizing Committee is working diligently to attract over 40 companies to the Fair. The purpose of the Fair is to educate you (students and grads) about different types of employment and to give you industry contacts which may lead to hiring. Do your homework before attending the Fair by updating your resume, by checking on an on-going basis, the Tech Fair website, for the list of attending companies with their profiles and the fields of studies which interest them. Be ready to speak briefly about yourself (what you're studying, which year, what are your skills, achievements and interests) and to ask questions about the companies' activities and needs, to make the most of your time and theirs.
