Position Title: Casual student Undergraduate research assistant

Start date: May 20, 2014 End date: Sept 19, 2014 Hours: Mon-Fri, 9 :00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Hourly wage: $11.18 per hour

Duties:

Help the Professor with research in a pattern recognition / machine learning project. This project involves web programming for data collection, writing code for image extraction, developing and writing code for feature extraction from pixel-based images, developing (mathematically and conceptually) appropriate pattern classifiers, including random forest classifiers, binary decision classifiers, and various nearest neighbor methods. Writing html code to port the best solution to a web site.

Skills required:

Brilliant mind. Impeccable (English) writing and communication skills. Undergraduate mathematics, including linear algebra, data structures, and algorithms. Shell programming in UNIX.
