Summer Research Opportunity
Numerics of Luttinger Liquid Behaviour in a Quantum Nanofluidic System
This project will be highly numerical, and in collaboration with Prof. Del Maestro from U. of Vermont and Prof. Ian Affleck from the UBC. The summer student will make use of already existing path integral quantum Monte carlo codes, and exploit them on powerful supercomputers. The project will focus on obtaining new numerical information on the Luttinger liquid behaviour thought to occur in quantum fluids confined at the nanoscale. This project will likely lead to publication(s) in physics journals. If you are skilled with numerical/computer techniques, and feel qualified, please contact Prof. Gervais in McGill physics and send your CV immediately.
