Prof. Xue Liu's research reported by CBC, New Scientist and McGill Daily

How do you protect children and minors from being assaulted by misbehaving users online?

The joint team of Prof. Xue Liu and students, Jianxun Dang and Hanqiang Cheng from SoCS and researchers from University of Colorado Boulder, are studying a new theme of research called "negative content filtering".

The team has developed a suite of smart algorithms for flasher detection and it is recently been tested and used by Chatroulette.com, one of the world’s fast growing startup in 2010 according to Google's Zeitgeist.

Their work has been featured in news media including: CBC, NewScientist, MIT Technology Review’s blog and the McGill Daily.
