IT Research Assistant Position

The Making Publics Project (MaPs - http://makingpublics.mcgill.ca) SSHRC-MCRI is research project based in the Faculty of Arts. It seeks to understand the processes by which people came together to form publics around works of intellect and culture, including the dynamic relationship between publics and both the broader social and political field of early modern Europe and the emergence of the ideal of the public as a feature of modern political culture. We are interested in early modern publics in their own time and in their long-term effects over time.

As part of its mandate MaPs is seeking to explore new ways the internet and computing technologies can be harnessed as research tools for large interdisciplinary collaborative research. The current MaPs website requires transition from its existing platform as well as optimization.

MaPs is seeking a Research Assistant for approximately six months to aid in this effort.
